As my Wife and I became aware of Natalie Burns as a local Artist in Cumbria, and saw more of her work, we very much liked what we saw and so commissioned a painting of our house.

When it arrived, we were delighted with the detailing and styling.

It is now framed and hanging in pride of place inside our house and is often commented on and admired by many visitors.

Natalie is a very charming and talented lady and we highly recommend her Art.

Hi Natalie,

Just wanted to say how delighted I am with the pictures I have purchased from you.

Cumbrian by birth but lived in the East Midlands for 40 years. My sister bought the picture of St James Whitehaven for me. The church I was baptised and married in and also our children. Since then, you have done me the interior and I was delighted to see our first house available so had to have that.

Now diversified into one of your 'map' pictures, the one with the two lighthouses as I spent many happy years on the harbour and the Golden Sands (when they were golden) and it's lovely to have 'home' on my walls.

I'm sure others will take my eye

Added to all this your service is exceptional. Order to in my hands 3 days

Thank you

I met Natalie at an art fair in Cockermouth and was immediately taken by her watercolours of buildings so decided to commission a painting as a birthday present for my wife. Natalie was able to capture exactly what I had in mind (no mean feat given the poor quality of the photos I provided!). My wife and I were both delighted with the result and I would highly recommend Natalie for commissions.
I saw Natalie’s paintings on Facebook and knew I would love her to paint my house. She came, photographed it and painted it in a week I love it, it’s a wonderful painting.
A truly beautiful painting.
Natalie has really captured the character of our cottage and added such intricate details.
My husband loved his birthday present.
Thanks again
It is very rare that an artist comes along whose work is instantly recognisable and perfectly captures the spirit & beauty of your hometown and surrounding areas. Not since Percy Kelly has anyone so uniquely captured West Cumbria in all its glory but along comes Natalie Burns and deservedly earns the title “The woman who painted Whitehaven “
During Lockdown it was a joy to see the regular social media posts of her artwork, specifically the wonderful Georgian architecture of our hometown. As the craft fairs restarted, it was a pleasure to meet Natalie and buy some of her original works of the buildings in Whitehaven that invoked happy memories. So began a lovely friendship based on a shared passion of local art and a love of our town and of course, because we’re from Whitehaven, so many common friends & workmates.
From townhouses to post-boxes, lighthouses to ice cream vans, Christmas presents, birthday cards and retirement gifts, Natalie is definitely our go-to artist.
We commissioned Natalie to paint our friend's house as a special birthday gift.

Natalie's work was a beautiful representation of his home, and he was absolutely delighted with it.

Her work is unique, full of character and captures the characteristics of the buildings she paints.

She was a pleasure to deal with and we can thoroughly recommend her for commissions and also for paintings and drawings of her chosen subjects.
Oh my gosh the painting is more beautiful and sentimental than I thought and brought me to tears.  Thank you so much and I will cherish it forever and can’t wait to frame it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart you have no idea what a joy it brings to me xxxoo.
After seeing Natalie’s work on Facebook, I knew she was the right person to do a special commission for my wedding anniversary. After 21 years of marriage, I thought it would be perfect to get Natalie to draw a picture of the church where we got married. It was perfect. Love it so much. So talented. You will not be disappointed with her work x
Thank you so much for your ever talented and enthusiastic support of our school’s art show Natalie. Your creations are always a joy to behold. Every year I'm eager to search out what you've entered, and this year I'm especially excited to see the commission of our house that you are about to paint for us.
At West Cumbria U3A we have invited Natalie to speak to us on two occasions in the last two years. She did an interactive poetry session with us which was great fun and non-threatening – no poetry writing experience necessary!  This session was so enjoyable we invited her back; on this occasion, Natalie gave a presentation featuring her delightful paintings of local buildings.  We’ll continue to follow Natalie and her work and will no doubt be inviting her back in the future.
